Canada wins 2009 U18 Hlinka Memorial
The medal games at the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial proved to be no contests as Canada and Sweden both rolled over their opponents 9-2. in the final, Canada beat Russia 9-2. Sweden beat USA 9-2 in the bronze game.

The 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial final on Saturday is ready for another showdown between the two super hockey powers, Canada and Russia. On the final day of the group stage, Canada demolished Czech Republic 9-0 while Russia beat Finland 8-4. Sweden and USA will play for the bronze.

2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial - Canada and Russia enter pole position
The second day of the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial led to four expected victories. The OHL forward line with John McFarland, Tyler Toffoli and Tyler Seguin once again made the difference when Canada beat Switzerland 6-3 in Group A. The line that combined for 7 points in Canada's over Sweden today produced a combined six points.

2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial - Preview 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial - Preview
The Ivan Hlinka Memorial is the biggest international U18 event outside the U18 Championship in April. The tournament which was originally called the U18 World Cup of Hockey takes place in mid-August each year and is usually hosted by Breclav or Hodonin (Czech Republic) and Piestany (Slovakia). Throughout the years, the tournament has featured some of the greatest future hockey stars including Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Rick Nash, Milan Michalek, Marc-André Fleury and Victor Hedman to name a few.
