• Avtomobilist Ekaterinburg got its first KHL win despite being outshot 42:19 vs Atlant. The young goaltender, Ivan Lisutin, who played his first KHL game, played fantastic stopping 41 of the 42 shots plus the two Atlant penalty shots in the shootout.

• Metallurg Magnitogorsk kept its perfect record with a two nothing win over Severstal. Proskuryakov got his second SO in only 3 games. Proskuryakov benefits from Magnitka's very strong defensive game, but he did however stop 32 shots in today's game.

• Traktor skated to a rather surprising 3:2 win over SKA. SKA played poorly in the first period and were lucky only to be down 2-0. It could easily have been 5 or 6-0 after the first period, Championat.ru reports. Sergei Zubov scored his first goal in NHL and Russian hockey after his return from NHL

NOTES
• Salavat suffered an unlikely defeat to Lada. Lada was grossly outshot but was very efficient on the powerplay (3 for 16). Lada is indeed the most efficent powerplay team in the 2009/10 KHL (10 PPG so far).

• Torpedo's Viktor Alexandrov is the only player that has been on the scoreboard in all the games, he has played.

• Four goaltenders have played full time for the teams without substitution: Magnitka's Proskuryakov, Avangard's Rämö, Severstal's Stana and Atlant's Gerber. Proskuryakov leads the goaltenders with a SVS% of 96.9% and GAA 0.83.

• Lokomotiv Yaroslavl is off to a slow start. The team has lost the latest two games and that only happened twice last season. To add salt to injury, the starting goaltender Georgi Gelashvili is out for two month (injured last week). The team will not look in the market for a replacement, but will go with the backup goaltender, Sergei Gaiduchenko.
