Game summaries  from the first day of the Czech Hockey Games 2009

SWEDEN - CZECH REPUBLIC 1-2 (0-0, 1-1, 0-1)

In the opening game of the Czech Hockey Games 2009, the legendary star, Jaromir Jagr, returned to his national team, and didn't fail to make a decisive impact. Jagr scored the game winning goal and also set up the Czech's first goal. After a cautious start, the Czech Republic dominated the game, but Stefan Liv kept the Swedes in it with several exceptional saves. Sweden's head coach, Bengt-Åke Gustavsson hasn't yet decided whether he will go with Liv, Johan Holmqvist or Jonas Gustavsson as the starting goaltender in the 2009 IIHF World Championship. With his perfomance today, Stefan Liv is certainly a strong candidate. Holmqvist will be tested on Saturday vs Finland and Jonas Gustavsson on  Sunday vs Russia.
