19 April, Russia win the Czech Hockey Games
Aleksander Radulov shined with one goal and three assist in Russia's 6-3 win over Sweden. The biggest question after the game is Sweden's goaltending situation. Before the Czech Hockey Games, Bengt-Åke Gustavsson was undecided whether he should start Stefan Liv, Johan Holmqvist or perhaps Jonas Gustavsson at the 2009 IIHF World Championship. Stefan Liv made a strong bid in Thursday's game vs Czech Republic and Johan Holmqvist didn't looked impressive at all yesterday vs Finland. Today, Bengt-Åke Gustavsson dropped his original plan to ice Jonas Gustavsson in order to take another look at Liv. Stefan Liv allowed three soft goals and failed the test.

Finland missed a golden opportunity to win their first Euro Hockey Tour tournament since the Karjala Tournaus in 2005. Finland needed two points and got the first when the game went beyond regular time. However, the overtime hadn't barely started when Jakub Klepis converted on Jaromir Jagr's assist and ruined the Finns' ambitions.
