Any scores or video from this event?
Holy Cross (NCAA D1) 10, USA University Team (Universiade) 1
Holy Cross is a weak NCAA D1 team, but they absolutely destroyed the USA Universiade team that will be competing in Almaty, Kazakhstan...
I'm going to resurrect this thread and will recap this year's NCAA D1 - CIS games soon.
In the interim, some interesting game scores to report:
Concordia (CIS) 4, Denmark national junior team 2...
Royal Military College played both games.
RMC lost to Nichols College 3-1 & beat Johnson & Wales 7-3.
For some perspective, Johnson & Wales is 2-7-1 in NCAA D3 play & ranked #69 out of the 79...
I thought that the Swiss national team was confirmed for next year?
Next year should be very interesting with the Swiss nationals taking part.
Mladost has played very competitively in this league. Zagreb is 0-8 but they've been in most of their games....no really ugly blowouts in the majority of them.
USA has an easier path to the gold medal game than Sweden or Canada, at least on paper. But we all know paper predictions don't always come true.
Would LOVE to see Denmark make history and knock...
Great insights Laho - thank you.
I'm surprised- Lugano had played extremely well and to my mind looked to be the favorites, especially after dominating Davos in the semifinals. But I guess you can never count Canada out in this...
Exciting to see that we may get some new teams in for next year.
Meanwhile, Canada has avenged its prior loss and knocked Dinamo Minsk out of the tournament with a 3-2 win.
Lugano leads Davos...
Thanks for the links guys. I have been able to watch and enjoy some of the games.
The level of the hockey has been mostly top notch as expected.
Avtomobilist was a disappointment, & Mountfield...
What a dream tournament so far by Denmark! Really glad for them.
Finland's tournament has, by contrast, been a nightmare for them. Shocked.
The USA's win over Russia was nice to see.
Sad...
Denmark played an exhibition game against Concordia University (Quebec), a CIS team, and lost 4-2. Not sure if they played any other games. Concordia is generally a weaker CIS squad but they are...
I need to find a free live stream......the YouTube feed is geoblocked here in the USA as usual. :(

Israeli offenseman Eliezer Sherbatov has been trying out with Dinamo Riga for the past 2 weeks or so. Not sure if he'll get a contract offer but they are giving him a real look. Great to see.
The ECHL's Colorado Eagles play in Loveland, which is about a 45 minute drive north of Denver, where the Avalanche play. The Eagles have operated for a decade, but this is the first time that the...
Partizan? Or is this (as I thought) an entirely new club?
And now China will start with the handing out of passports to non-Chinese players to artificially strengthen their national team and try to get into the Olympics. They will do it through 'Kunlun Red...
Picked this up off of an English language Quebec website, talking about Radulov's past in the NHL where he was viewed as talented and hard working, but too much of a partier and not mature off of the...
Merci Beaucoup, Marc. Good to see you here. If you have the time, maybe you can give is occasional updates on the French hockey scene in the coming year.
For the last sentence of your post to come true, the other domestic clubs will need to survive on at least a youth level through U18 or U20. Not sure if a strictly U18 or U20 competition will...
Bassa - you misunderstand me. I'm talking about foreigners with no Serbian blood being given Serbian passports after two seasons with the 'superclub.' That can't be good for Serbian hockey.
A...
I don't see how HK Beograd will be a good thing for Serbian hockey as a whole. Sure, it will be good for hockey fans in Belgrade to see most of the best Serbs playing together along with some good...
I guess Radulov had an NHL out clause in the contract he had just signed with Salavat, because he's going back to the NHL - just signed for one year with Montreal for U.S. $5.75 million.
That's a fantastic update Ciremya....thank you! Personally, I'm sad to see Chamonix and Morzine merge.....two clubs with their own great histories. Which will be their home rink? Which players...
Local media and known Rangers bloggers are speculating that Jensen will be given a real opportunity to make the NHL roster out of training camp this year.
Gents - please make a new thread for the 2016-2017 tournament. Thanks!
That is welcome news. Will make the Champions League a lot more legitimate competition.
21-year old Danish forward Oliver Bjorkstrand scored the Calder Cup-winning goal in Game 4's overtime and was awarded the playoff MVP award.
From Cleveland.com -...
The famous New York Times newspaper ran a story on Lake Erie (Cleveland)'s championship in the AHL - very surprising. You can read it here: ...

Interesting comments on the World Cup from longtime NHL veteran Dainius Zubrus, who is now 37 years of age and was recently interviewed over at IIHF.com:
(Note the mistake made by the interviewer...
Wheeling evened the series 1-1 by defeating Allen 7-6 in Game 2. Wheeling led 3-0 after the first period and then exploded, opening up a 7-1 lead after two periods. Game over, right? Wrong! Allen...
The level of play will be 100% best of the best. Just don't call it a true international tournament because it's not. And it could have been been and in my opinion should have been.
I'm not a Sharks fan, but I loathe the Penguins. I do think the Penguins take it in six games. With that said, go Sharks!
The last few years have proven great teams can win Cups or at least make...
Hershey-Toronto Game 5 highlights: https://youtu.be/icMaoYBEl54
Can't believe I missed the fact that Taylor Hall was left off of the Canadian team. He definitely should be on that roster. He's a real star despite being stuck on the Oilers.
Insofar as the...
