What i have seen on eliteprospects 'Sary Arka Karaganda' is high level team, those players are Russia2 - we can say that is like EBEL ( Andrei Trochshinsky played for Jesenice in 2009/2010 to srenght the team), maybe higher.

No doubt, 'Sary Arka' will be first, but it will be interesting what will be the gap when they play with teams from MOL - Csikszereda is first ranking team, and Dunaujvaros (Dab).

Maribor is 4th in Slohokej league but you never know, Slovenians are good skaters and this group is play in Maribor. Maybe more interesting games will be between MOL and Slohokej team.

    Good luck.

I don't expect much from Stavbar, they have much weaker roster that last season when they won Slohokej league.Maybe they are strong enough to win DAB or Cziksereda (althought I doubt they will) while against Sary Arka they have nothing to look for.

Last Saturday in Slohokej Stavbar lost home game against Team Zagreb 3-0.Knowing level of Team Zagreb's play I'm sure that they are without any chances in this group.

Really great success for Romanian team, really didn't expect their win.

Now they need a win against DAB, it'll be interesting match of MOL league rivals.

Once you will also learn that icehockey is developing on other parts of the world as well.

What I've heard from Dab fans on site Karaganda thought that after the first 10 minutes the game is over. Maybe they had this impression from the friday match where they met with a very-very bad Dab.Docler, whose players play at not more that 50% of their abilities. Well, HSC was motivated and they fought hard.

But it is not a big disappointment to lose against them, they have really good players. Just many of you still live within old stereotypes.

This is exactly why it is so dissapointing. They deserved to be beaten if they assumed they were stonger and that it would be easy. Absolute shambles.
Oh and I am equally glad that hockey is developing around the world. Well done Romanian team!

    Dab.Docler - Maribor 2-3 (2-2, 0-0, 0-1)

With that HSC Csíkszereda is advanced to the next round.

Dab.Docler have a crisis right now, their last some Mol Liga matches were also awful. Hopefully they will get through it, the season is long,

    Congratulations for HSC Csíkszereda.

    Maribor - DAB Docler 3:2

Slovenians won and showed that Slohokej isn't so much weaker than MOL as it seemed when they lost to Csiksereda yesterday. There is obviously big gap between DAB and HSC and Romanians are much better at the moment.
Maribor isn't the best team in Slohokej but it's in top 5 so this is not enough to compare strength of those two leagues.I wish there would be more interleague matches between MOL and Slohokej, there would be good matchups there, definitely.

    Not really...

In the direct match-ups Dab is better in Mol Liga, with 4 points against 2.

Moreover, HSC leads in Mol Liga because they did not lost so many points against the teams in the second half of the ranking. But their balance against the better teams is negative. Miskolc is also better in the direct duels than HSC.

This is true. Dab's last matches were like a disaster. They had big difficulties to beat Alba Volán farm team, they lost on a very one-sided match against Ferencváros. Coach MacCallum said that the guys simply do not find the way to the net.

just a side-note: they (HSC) don't like to call them romanians...

Well, yes, I hope there will be some opportunity to organise matches between the teams from two leagues.

Great job by the Hungarian-Romanian club to beat Sary Arka.

Maribor is much weaker than it was last year, and obviously DAB Docler is as well.

This group has already been decided with Miercurea Ciuc as the winner:

    Ciuc 6 pts
    Karaganda 3 pts
    Maribor 3 pts
    Dab 0 pts

Since Ciuc has already defeated Karaganda and Maribor, they would win any tie-breaker, so they've officially earned themselves a trip to Italy for the 3rd round.

Incidentally, the Miercurea Ciuc - Maribor game wasn't as one sided as the 8-3 score seems.....shots on goal were only 33-32 for the MOL team.....the big difference seemed to be goaltending.

Dab fans who saw the match in Maribor told us that it was an easy win, though.

I'm sure that Csikszereda made bigest victory in history (Sary Arka Karaganda can't allow one's more to lose the game against Csikszereda in other 100 games). Maybe Kazakhstan team will have some chances to doing something in next round (if they pass) but for Csikszereda that will be not just one but all 3 games against teams on the level like Sary Arka.

    Group E in Asiago, Italy:
    HC Asiago (ITA)
    SonderivskE Vojens (DEN)
    Sokol Kiev (UKR)
    HSC Csikszereda (ROU)

All in all, only what we can say for Rom/Hun team is BRAVO and good luck.

Asiago or Sokol is going to win Group E, I think.

And except the one in 2009 and the one in 2008 ;-)
Apart from this, no doubt that Sary Arka lost to Csikszereda is a huge upset most likely closely related to heavy underperformance on behalf of the Kazakhs...
