    Hi Derrick!

    I have a questions:

    East Germany – Canada 2-6 (0-3, 0-1, 2-2)

    0-3 (12:32) Brad Maxwell 1 (Charron) SH1 ?

I have a penalty Canada Patrick Ribble - 12.32 But then goal can not be in SH or time of the removing not faithfully?

    East Germany – Soviet Union 2-10 (1-2, 1-0, 0-8)

    2-09 (57:58) Alexandr Maltsev 4 (A. Golikov) ?

In this match on russian encyclopedia Hockey Alexander Golikov did not play, but played his brother Vladimir Golikov.
In russian encyclopedia in tournament A.GOLIKOV -8/3+3/4 and V.GOLIKOV -10/7+3/6

    Hi KOTAS,

    thank you for your questions.

    1) East Germany - Canada 2-6

In this match Patrick Ribble got 2 minutes for crosschecking at 10:41. So it was a SH1 goal at 12:32.

    2) East Germany - Soviet Union 2-10

This goal was definetely assisted by Alexandr Golikov (#23). I have three different sources and everyone of them is saying the same - of course the official match report too.

In this match Alexandr and Vladimir were playing! The individual team statistic has the following information:

    (#23) Alexandr Golikov - 10 / 3+4=7 / 4
    (#25) Vladimir Golikov - 10 / 7+2=9 / 6

    Regards

    Derrick

questions while no, but there is addition

    Soviet Union – Czechoslovakia 4-6 (2-1, 1-3, 1-2)

    Penalty minutes: 23 (4x2 + 5 for Makarov, Fedorov & Fetisov) – 14 (2x2 + 5 for P. Stastny & Zajicek)

Very interesting history of the penalty in match.

    1. On 36.35 breach has made Kapustin, but referees to mistaken and deleted Makarov
    2. Fedorov was in reserve and in match did not play, but has got removing for participation in fight after goal Peter STASTNY

    Hi Derrikk

I have once again looked the miscellaneous a facility. Alexander Golikov could not play 10 матчей on tournament.
the April 30 he has got the trauma in match with Finland and his has changed Makarov. In play with GDR he did not play and do the issue could not. Also, the russian newspapers speak that because of traumas on match with czech were not declared Petrov and A.GOLIKOV.
All russian facility - an official roll assembly USSR, Gold(en) book and encyclopedia Hockey this confirms. Possible in protocol of the match USSR - GDR mistake?

    IIHF 1978 IHWC, Czechoslovakia

    Hi KOTAS,

I have no explanation for these different information! To prove my version by the official game report I tried to upload two documents here, but unfortunately it doesn’t work.
But it seems that there was published a really big mistake by the IIHF, because your descriptions are absolutely more credible.

    Regards

    Derrick

    Hi,

Name of the other Canadian goalie was Denis Herron, not Dennis Murphree
