Hope that he is able to get well soon and get back to the things he loves. People who drive drunk have a complete disrespect for not only themselves but the lives of others, terrible.
    Stupid drunk.

The drunk should be put away for life... so sad to hear of these incidents.
Lotscher had a great first tournament for the Swiss senior team, and I wish him a full and speedy recovery.
I'll hold out hope that he can use this recovery as a springboard to return and have a career season.

Guys , as a doctor I have seen things done by the drunk driers that can outrage the most timid soul, theat person should be punished to the highest extent of the law

I am sickened to hear this.

The drunk driver should be jailed for a long, long time.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

    Hope he recovers soon.
Don't understand how can someone have such a little respect for safety of other people and drive drunk

He is still stable and still in a coma but they are going to wake him up soon, on Monday should be reports.

They brought him out of his coma and all signs show he is continuing to improve.

Update on Loetscher: he's out of the hospital and "doing physiotherapy and brain exercises for several hours per day while travelling to his family on weekends". Unfortunately, he's lost some of his memory from the accident, such as playing in the WC, but he has been on the rise in recovery. Best of luck to him!

I just read that article on iihf.com, so great to see him on his feet and smiling.

Lötscher at this point doesn't expect to return to hockey in the future, but others are saying that with the effort he's putting in and the progress that he's made, it shouldn't be ruled out quite yet..

All the best to Kevin, here's hoping he can one day make a return to the ice. It would be a tremendous story if he does, and should he ever find his way to an NLA title it would be Hollywood/Disney movie-worthy, eh?
