    Some recent signings:

21/4 Dallas Stars sign defenseman Patrik Nemeth to a 3 year ELC (will be on loan to AIK next season)

28/4 Forward Anton Lander signs with the Edmonton Oilers (He makes it clear that he will stay in North America, and dont be loaned back to Sweden if he doesnt make the big club)

12/5 Nashville Predators announce they have signed dman Mattias Ekholm to a 3 year ELC (Ekholm who had a stellar first season in Elitserien and won the Rookie of the Year award. He will probably start the season in Milwaukee and work his way up the chart)

16/5 Dallas Stars reaches an agreement with defenseman John Klingberg (Klingberg will play for Jokerit in 11-12 season)

Los Angeles Kings 2nd round pick in 2007 Oscar Möller is back in swedish hockey. He will play for Skellefteå AIK. He says this is a oppertunity to "restart" his career and that he still aims to be a NHL-regular.

Great thread! It´s kind of ironic that Sweden the country probably with the biggest number of promising young talents didn´t have such a thread on here until now.

    Ottawa

Ottawa goalie prospect Robin Lehner is 1 game away from reaching the Calder Cup finals.

Lehner, 19 have appeard in 11 playoffs games for Binghamton Senators. Posting a .927 save%

I know the Ottawa management & fans are very high on this kid. Dont be suprised if he wins the backup job in Ottawa in 11-12.

Minnesota Minnesota sign Johan Larsson to ELC

According to Aftonbladet, Minnesota Wild have signed forward Johan Larsson. He will be back in Brynäs for 11-12.

Larsson who often is used as a center, is a gritty player, good along the boards, work hard in both ends of the rink, terrific faceoff man.

Vancouver Anton Rödin set on North America in 11-12!

Vancouvers 2nd choice in 2009 Anton Rödin will make the jump to NA. Link
He will probably need some time in the minors to adjust to NA-hockey.

With Edmonton's lack of quality young defensemen after Ryan Whitney, I don't see them passing on Adam Larsson.

Also any news on whether or not David Rundblad is going to come to North America next year?

Everyone expects him to cross the pond, he has nothing left to prove in Europe. Will be interesting to see how he translates to NA. His offensive upside is skyhigh!

I love Rundblad's ability to know when to jump into the play, and when to be physical. He looks to have great talent, and great hockey IQ to support it. 50 points as a 21-year old defenseman in a very defensive Elitserien is super impressive.

Andreas Engqvist scored twice to help the Bulldogs to a 5-4 win over Houston.

the only players I can see getting signed there is Erixon or maybe Bertilsson. This is a great group of hockey players though.

Lindström just signed with Carolina. I have no idea why Erixon isnt signed yet, only 2 hours left to deadline.

Tweet from Bob McKenzie: "NYR believed to be hot and heavy in talks with CGY to get Erixon. Tim's dad, Jan, play for NYR. Tim was born in Port Chester, NY. Stay tuned" Hmmm...

Rangers acquire defenseman Tim Erixon and a fifth round draft pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft from Calgary in exchange for forward Roman Horak and two second round draft picks.

So I guess they traded Erixon huh.

NHL Swedes in the 2011 NHL Draft

With the draft only being a few days away, how is the outlook for Sweden this year?
The 93 born class is quite strong. Its a good draft year, not as good as 2009 tho.

These players I consider locks to be selected:
    Adam Larsson
    Gabriel Landeskog
    Mika Zibanejad
    Jonas Brodin
    Oscar Klefbom
    Rickard Rakell
    Victor Rask
    Rasmus Bengtsson
    Jeremy Boyce-Rotevall
    Joachim Nermark
    Max Friberg
    Magnus Hellberg
    William Karlsson
    Johan Sundström
    Klas Dahlbeck
    Gustav Björklund

    good chances to get picked:
    Patrik Vesterholm
    Mattias Bäckman
    Victor Berglind
    Karl Johansson
    Albin Blomqvist
    Viktor Arvidsson
    Joakim Ryan

Then there are tons of players in the mix, who could be drafted. There is always some suprise picks.

Summary: I think around 20-25 swedes will be drafted in 2011.

2# Colorado Avalanche - Gabriel Landeskog
4# New Jersey Devils - Adam Larsson
6# Ottawa Senators - Mika Zibanejad
10# Minnesota Wild - Jonas Brodin
19# Edmonton Oilers - Oscar Klefbom
30# Anaheim Ducks - Rickard Rakell

A bit suprised Rakell was taken in the 1st round, before names like Grimaldi, Jurco etc..

Good start for Jesper Fasth on NYR camp.

Jesper Fasth was the star of this morning’s scrimmage at the Rangers’ prospect development camp, scoring two goals with an assist to lead the White team to an 8-3 victory over the Blue.

Fasth was all over the puck, and knew what to do with it, showing off his skill particularly on a stickhandle through the slot to beat Scott Stajcer.
