It seems as if Langenthal dosnt really want the NLA as President Stefan Anliker hinted at it in a recent interview. Ambrì is probably sitting there hoping and praying they dont need to fight with the NLB Champion, even Lausanne should they come back in the series hasnt received the green light to play in League Qualification. There is some speculation its because of the whole mess with Langenthal but who knows.

Lausanne has been a joke the past two years in the finals, is very clear they have their eyes set on making it back up to NLA but they just dont seem to finish the deal when it becomes really important. A great, great regular season for them without a question but they once again its a failed season, those are the expectations for this club. That isnt to take any credit away from Langenthal though, they had themselves a great season and before the play-offs even started, Ehlers knew Lausanne was heavy favourites but he wanted to knock them off, so congrats to him and his club.

Langenthal has passed all requirements and will play in League Qualification which will begin on 3.April.

Thx DHKStarkov the worldchampion of all hockeyforums !

Both Langenthal and Lausanne have problems to promote !
Langenthal : the Arena don't have the necessary requirements for the NLA !
Lausanne : it's seems that Lausanne and Geneva have the same owner and that's not allowed in the same league !

LHC elimination is an absolute surprise, (more than last years 4:0 sweep by Viège)
because this year they dominated so much.
LHC has a problem. What does that club make wrong too fail regularly, with the highest budget in NLB.

As long as they had EHCB in direct competition for promo or rel. they had a real
problem but now Viège, Langenthal....to me very strange. Maybe ultimately the
problem is Van Boxmeer who never won anything important as a coach.

As to Langenthal they deserve applause for their fantastic season. An eventual
promo would make it the 4th Bernese team in NLA. Too many for my tastes and for
    many others.

Ehlers already promoted EHCB before being dropped by Kevin Schläpfer after first
games of first NLA season play-outs.

I'll make another probably faulty prognostic Ambri wins 4:2

Some awful news, former President of Lausanne, Pierre Hegg was beaten into a coma after attending a football match with one of his friends. After the Mönchengladbach match, Hegg and Favre went to get something to eat and walk back to the hotel on foot around 01h00 when he was attacked and is now in a coma. Police are still looking for the two perpetrators.

Hegg was the President of the club till 2004.

HC RED ICE has passed the economic requirements and representatives from National League will visit the arena to see if they need to make any changes which the club will make during the summer. In an interview with Andrey Nazheskin (investor), he said the club will have a budget of 2,5 millions francs which will increase over the years.

Majority of the core will return and Canadians most likely wont make up the foreigners, the club will still rely on their Russians. Swiss/Russian Albert Malgin will take over as coach (shared duties with Laurent Perroton) and will try to convince the just now retired Igor Fedulov to say in Martigny to be the assistant coach.

Does this mean that HC Sierre are relegated?

No, the league just increases to 11 clubs now. Since NLB and 1.liga dont have a promotion/relegation system (which 1.liga wants to set up of sorts), the only way for a NLB club to be "relegated" is by their own decisions to drop out of the league or for financial reasons.

Right, I see. Thanks for that. Will be interesting to see how Red Ice do next season. Should be some fun games with Sierre and Lausanne in particular.

The former President of Lausanne Pierre Hegg who was attacked in Germany last week remains in a coma, even after surgery his family seems little optimistic.

In less serious news, Manager of EHC Visp Sébastien Pico told "Le Nouvelliste" that most of the clubs would like to see five rounds for a total of 50 matches now that HC RED ICE gained promotion, giving the NLB the same number of matches as NLA.

HC RED ICE will enter NLB by giving their head coach Albert Malgin a two year extension plus an option for a third. Malgin replaced Perrot after just one match last season as well as coached the clubs U20 program.

Who was #6 for HS Sierre? He's not listed on the roster for 2011-2012. There is a photo of him here in the game against Lausanne HC on 11/10/2011
