    Ukraine Dynamo Kharkow (Динамо Харьков)

    Hi,

I am investigating the fate of this historic club of Ukraine.
It was founded out of the Dynamo Sports Club in 1979 and made its way up to the soviet premier league.

Suddenly it seems, this club disappeared in 1992. Dinamo played in 2nd tier (pervaya liga) until 1992.

After that, this name can not be found anymore until 2011, when SDYuShOR Kharkov renamed itself to Dinamo Kharkov.

Was Dinamo renamed to either Yupiter or OUFK Kharkov in 1992?

Any details of the next years of existence?

Or did Dinamo just ceased to exist?

    Thanx.

My guess would be that the team indeed got renamed just like Dinamo Riga. Though it sounds unlikely that the team would of survived until 2011 (again just like Dinamo Riga)

I don't know how's your Russian, but you could search for an answer here. Some dude is building a nice site about Ukrainian hockey with a lot of pictures - http://hockeyussr.ucoz.ua/

I already checked this site out, it helped me for the clubs history until mid 80ies, after that there are no more season reviews (until today).

You are right, but it makes one wonder, why it's said by Kolesnikov and what does it means for current team Kharkov - Akuly? Will it be simply renamed or there will be two teams from Kharkov?

I have no idea. I dont follow ukrainian hockey. I watched Kolesnikov┤s press conference, someone asked him if he knows about other guys who can develop hockey in another regions of Ukraine. He answered this statement about Kharkov etc. Maybe he is involved in hockey federation/has info

Dinamo Khar'kov, imho, was dispersed during the hardship times for Ukrain, the majority of the DUSH (most talented kids) and even some coaches have moved to Russia, majorly to yaroslavl

A new club called Dynamo Kharkiv - paying homage to old Dynamo team - replace Kharkivsky Akuly and will play in next PHL: statements from press conference here: http://eurohockey.com/article/1679-d...v-revives.html
