Honestly, I feel that this can either be a close game with a possibility for an upset by Norway, or Russia may run away with this. Seriously, Russia has been rolling over teams and now Alexander Ovechkin and Alexander Semin being added = a possibility for the score to get ugly.

I agree with, Conesy. I guess it will depend on the kind of approach that the Russian players will take toards the game.

Since playoff format was inducted at World's it never happened that "lesser" team beats someone from BIG-7. The closest were Germans in '03 when they lost to Canada in overtime (3:2). Three times non-Big7 played in quarters. If I recall correct all three games were between Swiss and Germans.

Can Norway do it ? Should be an interesting game...

Norway has really scored lots of goals in the last few games, but I'm afraid it ends here.

Russia looks motivated....some might say for a change. That means Norway makes an exit at this stage,

Norway is still hanging in there after one period, 2-1 Russia.
Can't help but think though that Russia could (and will) blow it open at some point.

I am impressed about the Norwegians even though it is hard for me to admit - but it seems like they have overtaken countries like Denmark clearly last few years. I thought we still were quite equal .... with small advantage to us

Quite equal, I agree. I think Datsuk's time has come/ his turn to make some tricky action. Or it might be pretty complicated..

Russia must be nervous now....a prohibitive favourite but only tied at 2 after two periods.
Norway can be calm because they basically have nothing to lose.
If Russia happens to lose, they'll never hear the end of it.

5-2 Russia with five minutes to go....a brave effort by Norway but it seemed inevitable.
Watching this game I think Russia was fortunate not to play the Slovaks, which would
have happened if the usual cross over format had been used.

Great effort by Norway.....much respect to the Norwegian hockey program. 2-2 after 40 minutes vs. Russia is more than respectable.
