Is that a ful size rink, or a small rink?

Playing 4-on-4 or 3-on-3 hockey does nothing to develop the players in Israel, in my view.

    I have been told it's 20 X 40 meters. Looking like 4 on 4?

Looking Like Two Leagues This year. Top League plays games in Metula, Lower League will be in holon for majority of games.
Herzliya might fold as a team. That's the latest news I've gotten.

Any decisions made on which teams will play in the top league, and which teams will play in the lower league?

I'd have to guess that Maccabi Metulla, HC Metulla, Bat Yam (Icebergs), Maalot, & Rishon Ice Devils would be in the top league.

I'd guess that Bat Yam-Holon (Jet Turtles), Rishon Ice Devils-2 (or whatever they end up being renamed, if the rumored name change happens) would be in the lower league.

Would Haifa stay up, or go down?

Also, even if Haifa were to go down, how are there enough teams for the lower league if Herzliya folds? Rehevot already folded, and I imagine that Afula is in danger of folding, if not already gone. Are some of the inline teams like Nes-Ziona ready to enter squads in the lower league?

I'd like to see a minimum of six teams in each league, with a minimum ten game regular season (play each opponent twice), followed by playoffs.

I think 6 and 6 would be the ideal goal. Nes-Ziona should be playing in 2nd league, and also you could get a lot of religous teams in the 2nd league aka Jerusalem area guys. From what I've been told, these teams are in for The Bottom division: Holon, Rishon 2, Nes-Ziona, Afula, Metula 2

As for top division, Im thinking it will be the teams you mentioned PLUS Haifa, making the 6.

For this season, we will report on & discuss both leagues in this thread.

The Israeli league has always been the 'IHFI Championships'.

Is the federation coming up with names for the leagues, or will we just designate them 'Israel-1' & 'Israel-2'?

    Anyone?

Currently I'm trying to find a spot in some team, but having a hard time to find one, I know I'm not the only one facing this problem.
It would be very helpful to have some draft games or at least some waiting list passed around ice hockey league.
How realistic to organize something like this?

What was the Federation's final decision, one league or two?

    Which clubs are participating?

Ok, here's the update that I've Gotten. There will be 2 senior divisions, and 1 youth league for 16 and under. The 2 senior Leagues will be Division 1 and Division 2, with promotion and relegation.

Speaking for Division 1, there will be 7 teams, and 12 games per team, with the season running from November 16-March 29. No info on playoffs or format, if there is one but i'm assuming there will be. The teams in the top division are:
Maccabi Metula, Bat-Yam Icebergs, Maalot Monfort, Haifa Hawks, Rishon Devils, HC Metulla, and Kfar Saba

Teams in Division 2 will be:
HC Holon Jet Turtles, Rishon Devils 2, Nez Ziona Dragons, Herzliya Ice Time, Maccabi Metula 2, HC Yehud, HC Gedera

I thought they were folding; no idea.

I am changing this thread; please note the new title and edited first post.

We'll have separate threads for the Israeli First League 2012-2013 and the Israeli Second League 2012-2013.

Buz most likely with Maccabi Metula, Lebedev has ties to Bat Yam, so I hope he comes back

Like I had mentioned, I started threads for the top league and the second league.

I don't want our readers to get confused between the various teams and results, so I made separate threads.

    Top league thread: http://forums.internationalhockey.ne...ague-2012-2013

    Second league thread: http://forums.internationalhockey.ne...ague-2012-2013

Shlomi and Issac Levy, veteran members of the Israeli national team, had a loss in their family. I believe their father
