Nope, nothing. I have tried to look on IIHF other websites to see if they made comment about problem at arena causing a delay or reason for no live scoring but of course nothing. Bulgaria Federation website is useless and the Turkish Federation dosnt even have a website (atleast to my knowledge) so thats no help.

According to my sources at the rink, it finished 4-3 for Turkey. I really wish they would do the live stats!!

Too bad that the Q was for 2015, they should run WC for Women in Olympic years as well...

Following the General Congress in Tokyo, Divisions IA through IIB and Qualification if neccesary will be played every year from now on. So Turkey is actually qualified for the Division IIB 2014.

Problem is that there will be no Division IIB (or any Women's World Championship) in 2014, due to the Olympics. Therefore, the qualification is, as Bennison mentioned, for 2015.

Maybe we will see the Women move to every year like Men? The IIHF has changed both the format and what Turkey had won, it now says they are promoted to 2014 Division IIB instead of 2015. Then again, the orginal said the winner was promoted to Group A, last place was promoted to Group B and Turkey somehow jumped into 2015 Group A. I will admit I dont follow the General Congress like you two do so I wont hold my breathe, but it would be nice if it happens.

Ok, I see that they have changed the text to 2014 Div IIB, perhaps a change is coming.

However, the IIHF Calendar of Events PDF does not list a World Championship (top level) for 2014 (or 2018):

IIHF ICE HOCKEY WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
    2013 CANADA, Ottawa 02.-09.04.2013
    2015 SWEDEN, TBA
    2016 CANADA, TBA
    2017 USA, TBA
    2019 FINLAND, TBA
    2020 CANADA, TBA

According to the IIHF Statutes & Bylaws 2012-2014 (p.68), no Top division will be played in Olympic years but Division I and II will. Now, how the promotion/relegation between Top and Division IA will be affected and will these divisions award points to the IIHF ranking, it doesn't say.

At the very least, they should do a tournament for unqualified teams, similar to the 80's Thayer Tutt Trophy when the Olympics doubled as World Championships for men.

I guess I was reading the process wrong the whole time since I'd assumed that by winning Turkey would get to go to Spain in March/April for the 2013 tournament. That's not the case? Seems a bit silly since they don't have any competition for a whole year if that's so.

The tournament in Spain is already full so unfortunately for Turkey, unless they play friendlies with somebody, they are done for the year. Whoever finishes in last place for Division II B will the following year play in the Qualification tournament. If somebody drops out, you could see the situation like with Mens Division III and Women U18 Division I where you can play two tournaments a year but right now, its not the case.

I think the smaller federations made a request that the Div III qualification be a tournament for promotion to the following year's tournament so they did not need to fund travel twice in a year.

Its called a qualification for two reasons. 1) The obvious one - the winning team promotes to the next division. 2) Unless there are four or more teams, the IIHF will not call it a 'championship.' A look back at previous years (pre-2003) suggests that somebody has to not get a medal for there to be medals (i.e. 4 teams).
