Martin played 15:45 minutes in his NHL debut last night and he recorded one plus point and 2 PM in a game which saw the Oilers annihilate the Avs 8-2.

"I thought he was good," said Oilers Head Coach Dallas Eakins. "I thought he was solid back there. I thought at a couple of times in the game, he had maybe a little nerves, which is totally natural. We were comfortable with giving him a little bit of power play time and he played just a solid game. That's all you want out of, not only a guy playing his first game, but every night from your defencemen. Play solid, play simple and he did that. That's a great, great start to that young man's career."

Martin was recalled to the Oilers at the end of December and he has played another four games with a +/- of +2 and in his last two games he has 15-16 TOI.

Martin started the season with Oklahoma in the AHL, but was recalled to the big league only 4 games into the NHL season.

And now he is back to the AHL. The way the Oilers have been handling him seems kinda strange though...

Marinčin has been called up back to the NHL in early February and has played 8 games since, including the game against the Bruins in which he scored the winning goal in the shootout and was named 1st star of the game.
