My predictions for this tourney don't look so good now. Hedstrom does not look like the goalie he has been in prior years.

Does anyone know why Spanish national team regular Alejandro Pedraz is not at this year's tournament?

This point for Serbian team is not enough.
Last day Serbian team play first game. If they lose then I am preety sure that rest of the teams will find right formula for everybody to be happy. It is the best for everyone. Finaly we will play against Bulgaria, our friends.
The generations of Slohokej league is going to history....and there is no future in young players only becouse they dont exist.

Congratulations for Serbian players, they deserve all respect for good level of playing without any serious competition.

    Bravo momci, iskrene cestitke.

It is amazing how Serbian team is playing given there is no serious league in Serbia. I can't imagine what would they have done it if Partizan is playing INL, MOL or some other league no weaker than Slohokej.

More or less this is completely Partizan roster, except goalie who is from a neighbor's team (4th line does not play: Sabados, U.Novakovic, Lazarevic, P.Novakovic, Zwick)..

Serbia played well except in the first game when we looked miserably .. everything is open, but I think we deserved 2nd place!

    And so is everything over.

Romania did their job. They have a couple of really good guys to hang at the higher level (Goga, Gliga, Flinta, Tranca...) but they have to keep away from the dips the times where they let the oponents into the game totally unescessary. If they can keep to their better level it would at least give them som chances in div IB. But without doubt the best team here.

Belgium is the surprise of the tournament. Overall really good done and a very compact team.

Serbia did better then expected having in mind their poor domestic season. At times really good hockey and they actually played better and better in the defense. It would be interesting to see wether it will be a joint league with the secon division clubs from Hungary. If nothing else they would play more games which is what this team really need.

Iceland took a step backwards. They didn´t impress much despite the game tonight.

Spain is also a bit weak. Serbia really outplayed at times today. And that´s strange thinking that for two periods against Romania they played really good.

Australia fought well but the skills weren´t there this year. Yet I think in a way they belong more to this level than for exemple China. We will see if I´m right.

    Overall a good tournament.
The joke of the day is that Icelands Sigurdarsson was awarded for best forward of the tournament. I could pick a bunch of players from Romania, Belgium, Serbia and even Iceland that was better. Strange decision.

The goaltending was Australia's main problem. An injury to Kimlin just before the tournament forced him out bringing in Carson to be the number one goaltender for the team. Carson finished with a 0.809 save percentage, the worst of all the goaltenders who played more than 40% of their teams total minutes. Only Australia's backup Broekman was worse at 0.800 but then he only played 34 minutes

I got two of the three medaling countries right, though not for the medals I predicted.

Iceland and Spain disappointed. Serbia impressed. I expected Belgium to do well this year, and they did.

And the biggest problem for them is that Australian Championship begging after WC which is terrible.

    Good tournament!!!

Maybe IIHF organization "swims poorly" with naturalized players but division to groups (1A, 1B, 2A, 2B ..) gives very interesting games. So, bravo IIHF!!!

Romania best, as I said at the beginning. Serbia has great players in first two lines, but the rest of team is weak. Other teams nothing special, Serbia overplayed them all (Australia, Iceland, Belgia and with Spain it was ugly). That shows me we not need "big" or "smnall" league, we need only 1 team, where young players could play normal league, nothing more and nothing less. Serbian league is ZERO.

I was disappointed with Milovanovic, during the tournament he played bad (not just because of PenaltyShot on youtube).. and also my opinion is that Sabados was not used enough, this guy has experience in MOL league (one of best teams) and he was sitting on the bench the whole tournament.. he is better than players in 3rd line (Ristic, Rakovic, Komazec)..

Serbia deserved 2nd place. Realy do not know in which way will go hockey in Serbia but I know we do not have more than 10 quality players in this moment,.. also we do not have junior league, there is no competitions in: U18, U16, U14???

    You are not fair....
He is one of the best Serbian ice hockey players..( you should tipe on youtube period of Partizan in Slohokej league and you will find some great games by him)
He isnt in form this year....practicaly there is no regular league in Serbia...and I supposed that he is without any motivation. There is similar situations even in NHL.
