In that case, this championship makes no sense, Energija will trash the other, semi-pro clubs without loosing a single point. It will be even a miracle if they not score at least 10 goals/game.
But why did they came back? Belarusians dropped them out, or they decided it?

Then I guess it's a farm team, which makes more sense.

Not indeed - but at least they a few times were beaten (by Kaunas, if I know well), and there was a minimal chance to winn against them. Obliviously Energija stronger team than Kaliningrad.

Kauno Baltų-Ainiai implemented a service of streaming from ice arena, a good opportunity to watch some game from Lithuanian league:

    Standing so far.

    RkClubGPWOTWOTLLGS:GAPTS
    1 Energija Elektrénai 7 7 0 0 0 62:22 21
    2 Kauno Baltu-Ainiai 7 4 0 1 2 49:33 13
    3 Juodupė LRK 4 3 0 0 1 14:11 9
    4 Rokiškis 4 2 1 0 1 21:17 8
    5 Hockey Punks Vilnius 5 2 0 0 3 19:27 6
    6 Geležinis Vilkas Vilnius 7 1 1 0 5 31:42 5
    7 ESSM-2000 Elektrénai 8 0 0 1 7 32:76 1

In spite that there should be 24 games in the season, the league goes quite slow, only one quarter of the games were played.
Energija Elektrénai dominating, that's not surprise - not even loosing a single point, generaly scoring more than 5-10 goals. Other teams (composed by young players, amateurs, and veteran NT players) are quite together.
The last two teams use mostly U18 and even U16 players (ESSM-2000 used to), with the help of few veteran and amateurs (therefore they results are so bad). Hockey Punks doing quite bad, in spite that they have some fromer (curent?) NT player (Šarunas Kuliešius, Mindaugas Kieras).

    Blue=Advanced to the final four

Energija dominated without loosing a single point and with huge goal difference. I not really got their point why they played there - these games were very easy ones. At first I tought that they will send a "B-team" here, but no, they always came with their best players. On the other hand, it was a good practise for the other teams - even if without success.
Geležinis Vilkas and ESSM-2000 was an U-team, sometimes even with 16 year old players. A good chance for them for improving in the senior league, but probably demoralizating suffering always huge deffeats. ESSM won a game against Geležinis Vilkas, but due to inelegible players, it was turned into a 0-5 technikal loss, therefore they have only 1 point.
The other teams were amateurs with some former NT-players (senior and junior ones as well), and Hockey Punks, with the second best roster, got the second place.

About the level: Energia played this year also in the Belarus 2 league, which is an U22(U20?) league in general. There, as the only senior team of the league, they finished as 5th in regular season, won the quarter-final round against Metalurg Zhlobin-2 and lost the semifinal. At this league, they were doninating, far above the others. So this league is somewhere under the level even of the Belarus-2, I even guess that most of the teams here is not even the levell of Latvia-2.

Can Lithuanian clubs compete in the Continental Cup?

Maybe Energija returned to qualify for that as domestic champions (which they couldn't do in Belarus)?

Yes, Energija participated in the Continental cup untill the mid 2000s (even when they played in Latvia, they came back for some kind of "Final four" and became champions in Lithuania), but when they played two seasons only in Lithuania, the didn't returned.
So yess, maybe they want to return to the CC like this way.

ALso final four will be held on this weekend, at Elektrenai. Semi-finals on Saturday.
    16:00; Hockey Punks - Rokiskis
    19:00 Energija - Kauno Baltu-Ainiai

The winners will play the final at Sunday, 19:00. The loosers will play the bronze game at 13:00.

    Bronze game:
    Rokiskis - Kauno Baltu-Ainiai: 3 - 2 (0:0; 1:1; 1:1; 1:0)
Rokiskis won the bronze medal. A great achievment for a club which plays it's home games and trains in outdoor rink.

    Final:
    Energija Elektrenai-Vilnius Hockey Punks 4 - 2 (2:2; 0:1; 2:0)
Energija probably never so close in the whole season to be defeated - but at the end, the predictable result came. Energija is the Lithuanian champion, without loosing a game or a point.
