Serbia played two friendly games against mixed junior Slovenian teams. Both lost by 3-5 and 3-6. Against Croatia is last preparation game.

Notable absentees in Team Estonia - Robert Arrak (01.04.1999) playing play off games in B juniors in Finland with Espoo Blues and German Samvel (03.01.1998) playing in US Nationals with Oakland Jr. Grizzlies. And also guys who are looking for a chance to represent either Russia or Finland in the future: Conrad Mölder (K-Vantaa, 06.10.1999), Kristjan Kombe (Hämeenlinna HPK, 28.03.2000), Otar Sakhokia (St.Petersburg Serebryannye Lvy/SKA, 10.05.2000) and Maksim Berežonov (Podolsk Vityaz, 11.04.2001).

How is goalie Jug Mitic (07.01.1999) related to the goalie Jug Mitic (07.01.1997) who played last 2 U18 games and was at this year U20 long list? How big is a possibility that thefirst name, family name, date of birth (day and month, not year) are the same. Also height and weight and home club on U20 list and now are identical?

Mistake in IIHF database? elitprospects too?

Yes, Trstenjak and Fičur are still in jugend EBEL playoffs, Matic is playing playoffs in DNL 2 and Krikšić is in USA searching for school/college for next season.

Yes, U18 coach who is also the coach of Medveščak U20 team decided not to use Fičur, Trstenjak and Čizmadija because he was planning to use them in the third match of the EBYSL finals series (that Medveščak eventually won 5:1). Krikšić was absent looking for college in USA and Matic is still in Germany playing in DNL2 playoffs.

I assume that Lav Mitic (14.02.1997) is his brother and with that in view it is most probably just a mistake.

Don't be so harsh, Serbia has young team, even some players are 2001. born, and overall 15 players can play next year as well.

Yes. And we can do so much better than today. We missed Arrak and Jõgi today. Jõgi played in Finland for Jokerit and will join the tournament tomorrow (not in the roster against Belgium though).

Still Vukotic and Djumic gave their best and respect - kept Serbia in the game. Goalie Mitic did well do. But otherwise You are correct.

Since IIHF change their format to play divisions WC more equal (A and B -levels for every division), there was not seen so one-side performances like that. Ahti, do you see that this year Estonian team are better than previous? That they could compute medals for upper division also?

This team should battle for Gold in Div II A. With a couple of guys missing. Last year drop out was the result of very poor management (coaching) of the team. Started with selection players and ended with 3 coaches giving 3 different orders to players. The result is there, but ... it is fair. We all get what we deserve. I believe this team will do more than fine in Valdemoro.

They are good, but not that good.

From the games of theses two days, I am really afraid of Serbian chances to stay in this gruop.

But yes they are. Add 4 best (or we can discuss that Kozõrev belongs to that list) forwards + a really great goalie from Finnish B2 SM-liiga. Even this squad will be much better when Jõgi is in for the next one. Imagine this line up with Arrak, Kombe, Sakhokia, Berežonov and Jõgi. For next seaon we will have 4 or 5 really good 2001 boys too. Sad thing is that after that (2002 onwards our level will drop dramatically again). and after 2002

How do you think, would those players choose to play team Estonia in the future? Seems that they could be very good players for team Estonia, but not so good that they would survive to team Finland or team Russia?

Times go by fast and the choice in Finland and Russia is huge. They are at the level of their national teams at the moment - that does not mean that they are on that next yaer or even then they would be young ones for the roster of Finland and Russia what makes their roster from the main year (next one 1999) mostly. And so far Kombe, Mölder have only Estonian passports. Sakhokia was the same case till December. Then (by rumours) he has obtained dual citizenship.

Also playing on better level could be more attractive to the guys than this II B.

We took it for granted. Everybody thought it is an easy one. And went to make easy (personal) points. Coaches let the team play too much ... Narva hockey. Long almost 2 minute shifts and no flexibilty in mingling lines. We went knowing finally we will get it and luckily we did. Kudos for Chinese team defensive battle and also great performance by their goalie. But with words of ex coach and Robert Rooba father Jüri: "Despite the numbers being close, not even for a second I had a feeling we could lose against them." It was about another game in another tournament, but was repeated by him to me in telephone conversation yesterday and very well described the game today. Chinese goals were incredibly lucky ones too.

China, Belgium, Island and Serbia are on equal level. It would be very hard fight for last place.
