There we go, losing a 4 goal lead. But good to see 2001 Cajkovic to see get on the scoreboard with a goal and an assist.

Compared to those three losses back in August against France, this looks like a much better showing by the Danish U18 team.

I wonder whether Denmark has a similar issue like Slovakia when it comes to the August international break that they only get on ice together in August unlike countries like Czech republic that have training camps for the youth teams in July or so?

From a Slovak view it's nice to see 2001 born Maxim Cajkovic lead the scoring of the tournament with 7 points in 3 games.

    I will say probably not.

The French U18 team did start early with a camp in late July/early August followed by test games against a couple of Swiss junior club teams, but this way of preparing for the new season looks to have been in place for several years now. The same goes for the series of games between Denmark and France so you get an indication on how the two countries programs match-up.

Denmark has now lost 4 in a row against France at the U18-level, the three games (2000-class) played in August plus a 4-2 loss in April at the U18 Div.IA.

However prior to that game, Denmark’s 1995,1996,1997 and 1999-class was a combined (all tournaments) 13-1 against France at this level, so when a class, in this case the 2000-born players suddenly goes 0-3 it stand out.

Presumably they simply lost to a better team, not much to do about that.
