Well…the score stands out (and not in a good way) compared to recent games against Latvia at the U16 level.

This is the first time this age group represents Denmark and according to the DIU's (Danish Hockey Association) own match report, the players needed the 1st and 2nd period to adjust and things did look better in the last 20 minutes of play, although Latvia overall was the better team.

Of the four participating teams, Denmark is also the only one (not to use it as an excuse) yet to play games this season, so was wondering how they would perform and having now lost 3 of the last 4 games against Latvia, losing Thursday's game was perhaps not that unexpected.

At least Denmark got the win against France and arguably the most interesting one (from a Danish perspective) will be today’s game (first of at least four matches this season between the two countries) against Norway.

Denmark matches its record from last year with a win against France both also with losses against Latvia and Norway.

After winning the tournament with the 2000-class and finishing in 2nd place with the 1999-class, recent tournaments have thus been bit of a setback.

Denmark will play Norway again in February and after today's game being fairly lopsided, it will be interesting to see if the Danish coaching staff can make any changes to improve things.
