    Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL)

The Canadian Women's Hockey League will fold on 1 May. Apparently the teams were league owned so I guess if they want to continue someone will have to buy out the name/rights.

The NWHL apparently looking into "opportunities" now, I guess maybe absorbing some of the teams. I wonder what will happen to Shenzhen KRS Vanke Rays. Is the Russian women's league worth them joining?

I'm not sure of the level of play in the Russian league but it has to be better and a Chinese league, no? While spreading their talent among multiple teams would help raise the level of play of a Chinese women's league, the CIHF's goal right now is to raise the national team first and foremost prior to the Beijing Olympics.
