    2020 IIHF U20 World Championship Division I Group B

    Division I Group B started yesterday in Kiev, Ukraine. France is the top seed of the tournament after being relegated from Division I Group A in 2019. Estonia is the lowest seed after gaining promotion from Division II Group A.

    On Day 1 Poland thrashed Italy, France beat Estonia and Hungary beat Ukraine.

    Day 2 sees Ukraine pick up their first win of the tournament, France continue their plan on returning to Group A and Estonia pick up their second loss.

    Day 3 sees Estonia pick up a win over Italy in what may be their key to avoiding relegation. Hungary and France both pick up wins each to cement their position at the top of the standings.

    Day 4 sees Hungary move clear at the top of the standings with a win over France, Poland pick up their second win and Italy gets a point following a shootout loss against Ukraine.

    Hungary wins promotion to to Division I Group A for 2020 after beating Italy 7-4 in their final game and finishing three points ahead of France. Hungary last played in Division I Group A in 2018 and improves on their last year performance of third place. Only in 2016 Hungary was playing in Division II Group A. At the other end of the standings is Italy who finished with one point and is relegated to Division II Group A. From by the looks of it Italy hasn't played in Division II since 2008 and only a few years ago was playing in Division I Group A. France, the highest seeded team, finished second and Estonia, the lowest seeded team, finishes fifth.

    - Hungary 7-4 Italy
    - Ukraine 7-3 Estonia
