Canada Film with images of the 1966-67 NHL season

    Hi all,

The National Film Board of Canada collection curator here again. I thought I would share with you this odd short film made during the 1966-67 NHL season. It is all set to Tijuana Brass music. Very odd, I will admit but the footage is spectacular. Hockey greats like Jean Beliveau, Bobby Hull, Bobby Orr, Terry Sawchuk and many more are featured. Please have a look:

FYI: The film was made with the full cooperation of the NHL and was shown in movie theatres in Canada and other countries. Enjoy.

Don't you just love the boards with no advertising whatsoever?

Did you notice that there are only 3 players with helmets:
    Montreal Canadiens #3 Jean-Claude Tremblay
    Montreal Canadiens #15 Bobby Rousseau
New York Rangers #24 Red Berenson

Yes, and goalies like Gump Worsley playing without a mask....insane!
Today, if a goalie gets his helmet knocked off the play is blown dead.
LOL most goalies back then played their entire careers bare headed!

loved it! Brought back memories of when I first started watching the game. I especially appreciated the reminder of the creative play and skill of players like Bobby Hull and Jean Beliveau
