Anyone going to Iceland in April 2006 for the 2006 Div III?

Going to visit Reykjavik during 2006 IIHF World Championship Div III - 24.04.2006 - 29.04.2006?

They really need true hockeyfans in the arena, and you really need to add Reykjavik to your list of "been there-done that"!

Post your tip, share your plans, or ask your question here. If needed, I'll do my best to give advice.

admit It - you have always wanted to go there anyway...

    Iceland team shop

Is there usually a team shop at the Div III WC? I am trying to find an official Team Lux sweater.

I would love to go and check out the tournament and the Turkish National team, but only time will tell..

I hear Reykjavik is a very expensive city as well :scratchhe...

Shame the hotel company I work for has no hotels in Iceland... there goes the chance to get discounted rates :105:

BTW what is a reasonable price to pay for a Bed and Breakfast in Iceland???

Any information will be great peeps.

    Thanks and regards Cady

Expencive.. Both yes and no. In general not extremely high costs in comparison to other scandinavian big cities, but I think you will find eating out and such a bit expencive. But here you can find all ranges as well.

Bed and Breakfast - check out this link: http://www.visitreykjavik.is/yellowpages.asp?cat_id=67

If you have a tight budget, an idea would be to check the hostel, a bit off city center - but it is located really close to the arena! http://www.hihostels.com/performLoca...iliateID=97026

    Hi Cady,

oh yes, whole Iceland is expensive. Don't forget, Iceland has 24.5% VAT..... that's the problem.

Have a look here. That's the "Hotel", where I booked. But I handled a special prize (each day CHF. 80.--), so, if you're interested, maybe you have to handle too..

Contact is Kristjana Einarsdottir ---> e-mail is: welcome@northernlightinn.is

    Good luck! :023:

By the way. This "Hotel" is very familiare. Absolutely great. It's approx 50kms from Reykjavik (you need a car...). Hotel's directly in Reykjavik costs approx. the double price..... at least...... And very near (500 meters) to this "Hotel", there is the famous "Blue Lagoon". A must to see and to enjoy.

Slight change of plans. I will be going to Iceland, arriving on April 19th but unfortunatly need to go back home on 24th (and missing out on all WC games :010: )

If there are any plans of meeting up in a Reykjavik pub that weekend before the cup, let me know!
