How did you discover this forum?

Just to get an idea of how our marketing/recruiting campaign is doing, let me ask all of you this:

How did you originally hear about this forum?

So far, I have 6 options:
    • Search engine
    • Direct link from another forum
    • Referral from a member on another forum
    • Direct link from another site (non-forum)
    • Referral from a (real-life) friend
    • Original member (2003 and before)
If you don't fit any of these options, don't enter the poll yet, post it in this thread and I'll add it to the poll, then you can vote.

    Also, post any comments/suggestions below.

Thank you for your cooperation! :003:

And this was one of the first urls to be displayed.Glad to have found it ! :drinker-g :023:

As our "Recruiting Officer", Jazz has done a great job attracting new users.

But due to the very high activity and the many links to our site, International Hockey Forums also rank very high in Google.

I just discovered that we were picked as the #2 site for news on the Olympic hockey tournament:

We welcome International Hockey Forums with 500 members participating from 50 countries. Everyone is talking about the Olympics this week - chatting in 34 languages. The forum posts are passionate and fun to follow along with (or join in).

    http://olympic-hockey-2006.toptensou...s/Default.aspx

How did I find the forum? Well, back in 2003, when were only around 10 fans chatting in different forums, I suggested that we create our own forum. The first forum was created on proboards in November 2003. In July 2004, I set up this VBulletin forum.

2 posters from HFBoards including Jazz ;) recruited me because of my marvelous knowledge of hockey... hm... well maybe because there are not a lot of French on HFBoards! :D

I don't know anymore. Probably I found this place via IHWC forums in spring 2004. I registered but havent posted then.

Some months later (January 2005) I registered again as my idle acount of the old forum wasn't transfered here.

I blame Jazz for me being here. I was getting annoyed with all the little fucks (pardon my French) on IIHF.com's fan corner and decided to take a risk by clicking on the link he kept posting (aka spamming the fan corner with). All in all, spam can be full of tasty hockey talk! :)

Steigs refered me to this site.

Gurj (or, as he calls himself lately, Jazz) recruited me more than a year ago (since then I'm stuck here), I posted something on some forum, I don't even know, where. I found lots of useful infos here, and (I hope) I posted some useful infos on hungarian hockey here. :003: And, thanx to this great site, I found some friends too.

All respects to Dancan for maintaining this forum, and congrats to Jazz for recruiting some hockey fans from all around the world!!!

Direct link from IIHWC.net, over a year ago. Actually came in and registered just now after Dancan reminded me of this place, so I guess that counts as a referral.

    Hello!

I'm taking the opportunity to introduce myself (though haven't that much to say...) I'm a Swede - so you can guess that I'm rather happy these days. I found a link to this forum at the IIHC message boards, and after reading them for a while a moderated forum seemed like a really good idea... So here I am!

the community is relatively small, but we're pretty tight. There are no bullshit posters as on most messageboards, just people who actually have a real interest and love for hockey.
