Czech Republic vs USA (Day 12) - Qualifying Round Group E Game-Thread

Will Czech republic claim the first spot in the final table? Or maybe USA will win and Czech will stay on the 4th pace to meet Russia in quaterfinals?

Seems to be a very close game, but Czech Republic has shown an excellent team spirit in the last game, so they have more chances for a WIN!!! +2 for Czech Rebublic in this game.

The Czechs is going up in shape and want to have easier opponents in the quarters, 4 -2 to them.

At the end of the second 2-1 USA. It seemed though as if the Czech Republic controlled large amounts of the second period.

The USA beats the Czech Republic 3-1. I'm very surprised (but happy) with the result.

I slept too long and missed both of the early games.. :089:

Surprising results for both in my opinion.

Reading Mr "Podunkis" article on ihwc.net, it sounds as if the USA only just showed up and stood around watching Czechs score own goals. :005:

Well, the fact is that WE have never lost to Belarus in quarterfinals. :003:

But to be honest Belarus has done very well this year and the game will be difficult for the Lions if they try to slack off. However, work moral has been the strong point for us in the past.

I am happy we don't have to face Russia or Sweden in the quarterfinals though. Slovakia I wouldn't have minded that much. I think this year Belarus is only marginally better opponent for Finland when compared to Slovakia.

Shardik right. But we have also never lost to Finland in quaterfinals :)

But, frankly speaking, Finland is one of the most uncomfortable rivals for Belarus. They have a biggest defeat of our team in 97(11:2) - it was a friendly game although; and the last meeting was in 2002 in Salt Lake City - blowout 8:1...... But we are optimic! As Hanlon says, Let's do the history, now and here! :)

Very impressive win for the USA against a very good Czech team, one that on paper should have won the game handily.
