There is no such thing as a "Bad Hockey Market"
There are, however, several markets with "Bad Hockey"

    New Chat Room.

In case any of you have not yet noticed, we have applied a new chat-room that is integrated within this forum. Here is the link

    http://www.internationalhockeygang.o...p?do=flashchat

There is also a link at the left near the bottom of the front-page.

Note: you need to be registered in the forum to be able to log-in. Check it out.

    Questions Chat room not working?

Hey, so is http://internationalhockeygang.org/chat/phpMyChat.php3 still supposed to work? When I try it, I get the error:

Database error: cannot select database skjalmk_pchat1
MySQL error: 1044 (Access denied for user: 'skjalmk_pchat1@localhost' to database 'skjalmk_pchat1')
    Session halted.

    ETA: Sorry, I'm reading deficient:

Hmm, the resulting chat application is just a blank white window (although it does let me set options). Is this the default state when nothing's going on, or is this some browser problem on the part of the flash app? (I'm using Mozilla under Linux.)

I'd like to know also is the chat working. I'm not sure if it's the chat room or my computer with the problem.

Something with the chat itself seems to be f-ed up, as I tried it with three major browsers. Fox gave me a blank white screen (both under Win and Linux), IE and Opera a distorted version of the IHF lounge backround image. I however noticed something peculiar when I tried to use "search" and "quick links" from the bar while in the chat. It seems like something's wrong with the backround image.

For a quick fix, I'd first try defaulting the chat software's settings (thus eliminating all the different sections and custom backrounds).

Hmm... seems like the chat's still dead.

I know it uses flash, but is some of the code PHP based? Something might be wrong with those files. Wasn't there a server/address change or something like that lately? There could be some old redirects pointing to a location that no longer exists.

    Info

Because chatroom won't be working during IHWC, we decided to keep our chat in IRC. Channel is #IHF (@IRCnet).

Notice this is just temporary solution until we get chatroom fixed.

If you are not familiar with IRC, you can find some info from Wikipedia

mIRC is most popular IRC client (and you can use it free)

You can also use Webchat (just write your nick and change channel to #IHF)

    http://www.ircnet.com/index.php?&p=5

Search for servers to connect on here.
In Mirc type in the command line: /server ircs.ircnet.ee <--- this being the server to go to.(fine one from here) http://www.ircnet.com/index.php?&p=5

    then type: /j #ihf

You can join the server and the channel with one command line, but I forget how to do it ;)

Also this might be of interesting news:

More on clients, if you're not a regular IRC user (and don't wish to start now), but you have some multiplatform IM client (like Miranda), you can also use that as your IRC client.

The Mozilla suite also comes with a chat client, called Chatzilla. If you have Mozilla (not just Firefox) installed, you should be able to type an address irc://{server}/{channel} into the status bar to open Chatzilla and connect.

I have to be at that server, right? I can't connect. I'm just checking my ports now.

Why don't we use quakenet? I guess it's more popular and i can't connect to ircs.ircnet.ee with my mozilla irc plugin :)

Try using your internet provider's IRCNet server, if there just is one. That should eliminate most problems.

It's quite simple actually. Instead of using an IPv6 server (which ircs.ircnet.ee is) that can cause a world of trouble without the correct settings (to which I won't go here, THAT would be geek stuff), he (and you all) should simply try figuring out one that is closer to your location. In Butcher's case, preferably Denmark.

...or you can just use that webchat. It's sometimes having hard time to understand the Scandinavian umlauts, but otherwise connecting to #IHF doesn't get much simpler than that.

How're your router settings? If all non-used ports are blocked by default, you should open 6667.

If nothing else avails, then you just have to go server-hunting. Grab a list and start trying which one lets you to connect.
