Sweden will take it out on Denmark. Switzerland played real good against Sweden. It was Switzerland who made the swedish players look liked zombies and not so much the sweds them self. Switzerland shall have the credit for the victory yesterday and I think they allso can beat the Czechs. Switzerland are fast and tactical team whit a very strong defence.

Most fun are to read sweden newspappers. First Sweden are no good at all and headning out of the tourament...after the win against France and the yes from Lundqvist Sweden are allmost Worldchampions and after the lose against Switzerland Sweden are out in QF.

This is going to be an interesting series.

Are there any upsets in the making? Sweden looks to be susceptible to losing unless goaltending can pick them up. Can the Swiss rely on strong defense against the offensive teams?

I picked the expected results. Sweden, Canada, Switzerland, and USA.

Yes, I think the Swiss have the Czech's number. Never doubt Krueger.

that's true. All teams they will face (sweden, belarus, switzerland) are beatable, but i don't think they can do it. They have to play better than they are playing now. If they play good maybe they have even chance to go 1/4

Well if you are right, with your forecast, than i´ll eat my hat.
No, honestly i bevlieve we go under against the americans. And with all that bad news for the DEB in mind, and the loss yesterday in the most important game of the tournament, i don´t think the heads of the player are free, for giving their best.

Maybe just because of that? They avoided the worst case - relegation round - anyway, so why not ride on the waves of "nothing to lose"?

It's surely gonna be a very difficult game for Germany, but still there's always a chance at least to show up and play good hockey.

Thanks Hanseatic, you've just helped me to stay ahead of you in the standings.... Actually I think we're going to see a totally dejected team of sheep now and the Americans will move in like wolves. I can't see Germany rising to the occasion for this now.

There is no team that Denmark want's to beat more than Sweden. But they won't win this one since Sweden has a lot to prove and will be very motivated. But i think it can be a close one.

    Sweden-Denmark 5-3
Canada-Norway 6-1 Norway are tired now and Canada wont spare them.
    Switzerland-Czech 2-5
    USA-Germany 4-2

If any of you Danes, like me, do not have TV2-Sport (cable TV), then I just noticed, that you can watch the game for free on their website :

    http://tv2sport.dk/node/8971

It only works for Danish internet connections though, according to their site.

If Canada has the right motivation, there should be no problem, and now they are just fooling around it seems. I still can't grasp how such a team like Norway (a good team, true, but still) could win Germany and play overtime with Finland...

Sweden is up 4-0 after two periods... Denmark looked good in the second period, but after the Swedish third goal they fell apart some. It'll be interesting to see what Denmark can do in the last period, if Hirsch will stay in goal for instance...

....and Norway's Mads Hansen scores on a shorthanded breakaway to tie it.

Canada not playing with much intensity at the moment, careless play lead to breakaway.

I don´t think we see any upsets today.

Edit: Oh sorry, i didn´t see Canada - Norway have started their game already.
Wow! Whats going on with canada? 1:1 right now the score and we are already in the 2nd period.

    Norway - Canada 1 - 1

Norway have just played bad in 1 single game they played, but then Lystenstoen let to easy shots by him... Norway is the biggest surprise of this tournament and after almost 2 periods against Canada they got 1 - 1 Pal Grotnes is really good behind the pipes.

The NOR Goal came from Mads Hansen with 6 minutes left in the 2nd period. It came short handed and they are no joke. This great performance so far for NOR is great, not just to surprize but hopefully improve their chances of making Vancouver 2010.

Denmark is playing extremely poor tonight. Sweden is up 6:0 without having played particularly well. Also, Peter Hirsch should have been replaced by Galbraith in the 2nd period.

Norway is doing a great defensive game, yet again. Canada has loads of shots, but most of them aren't very dangerous, because of Norways defending.. This can be very interesting if the Canadians get a bit pissed..

Wow, Norway's playing great, playing to their strength yet again. They've really improved (with some lucky bounces going their way this tournament, but that's a big part of short tourneys like this).

Norway definitely will make it to the quarter-finals. they already have 4 points, maybe get some points or at least 1 point against canada tonight.
And if not, they probably will beat latvia if they continue to play that well.

Yeah, Slovenians also wanted to win Latvia...
The only problem with those upsets is that we see how teams play. If Canada goes on ice against Latvia with 75% strength and attitude...and against Norway with some 20%... Yeah, that's showing strength!
Of course we aren't without our faults too. Norway had a chance and they took it. We...

I'm not sure what is happening - only watching the game with 1/2 eye. Sweden is not even close to the way the Czechs and Russians played vs Denmark. I think the difference is that Denmark's defense is playing the poor tonight; the forwards...well, they are playing as they have done most of the season: spineless and ineffective.

Denmark's worst game vs Sweden to date.

I am only following the game on the live-feed, but it certainly looks as if Norway is onto something big. They have earned it. Come on, Norway!
