    Latvia Juniors Riga

    Hi,

I am missing some information about this club , playing in the 90ies in the Eastern European Hockey League (and winning it 1997).

    When was it founded?
Is it the successor of Dinamo Riga - Riga Stars etc ?

When was it disbanded ? Why ?

Is HK Riga 2000 the successor of the Riga Juniors club - or are they independent?

    Thanks,
    Canyonero

HK Essamika Ogre and ASK/Ogre ?

    ASK = Succesor of Essamika?

    Thanks

I was just a small kid by that time so I basically don't know anything.

Will try to search some info as it's interesting also for myself.

You can say so. Essamika had Ogre in its name due to sponsors, who is now with ASK/Ogre. Essamika was playing while there was no ice rink in Ogre, but i remember article in newspaper where Essamika owners were talking about building one. After they did, ASK/Ogre was established.

I wouldnt try to connect any other club with Riga 2000. Club infrastructure in 90s was chaotic. Im pretty sure Juniors Riga did play in early 90s, when RASMS and Pardaugava played too.

I contribute to the german wikipedia regularly and usually try to explore the club history before I write something wrong.

Actually another Question has arisen, as I write a short article on Inbox.lv ledus halle.

    de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inbox.lv_ledus_halle

Does only HK Riga 2000 use it, or SK LSPA Riga / SK Riga 18 as well?

    What about LSPA ledus halle?

SK Riga 18 is playing in "Daugavas ledus arēna".

LSPA Riga is playing in "Akadēmijas ledus halle".

Another team from Latvian league that is playin in "inbox.lv" is HK "Concept".

HK Vilki OP played in Riga Open championship (usually considered as the Latvian 2nd league) from 2006 until 2008, but when in 2008 OZO ledus halle was opened in Ozolnieki, Vilki OP relocated there and renamed the club as HK Ozolnieki/Monarhs.

By the way, Sandis Ozolinsh is both owner of the OZO ledus halle and the club.

It is more or less as usual. There are no news, everything is circulating all around the Dinamo.

Anyway, it seems that the league will feature Zemgale, a club which already played in the league some years ago. HK Ogre will play with their juniors in Belarusian 2nd league, instead of Latvia and also it's possible that Energija Elektrenai won't be allowed to play, as they create extra travel expenses for all the other clubs. Besides that, there have been no news.
