He blew staggering 1.72‰ into a PBT so it wasn't even a minor violation.

aha I see, naughty naughty Scott, tut-tut.

    Kärpät's at it again:

    -Timo Helbling SWI (D) Lugano ->Kärpät (Try-out)

Nice to see players from different countries joining the league, Timo I think is the first Swiss player to play in the league for a long time now I think.

Laho, 1.72%... are you sure that's right? Because if it is then he should be DEAD, not driving. ...

Yep... if you wear your glasses and look at the sign I put there closely, you'll notice that it's per mille, not per cent.

    Laho. My bad.
Two symbols look too damn much alike for me at the end of the workday.

I'm very surprised to see ZSC allowed Sulander to go.

Of course, he went from my favorite Swiss club to my favorite Finnish club. :)

When Hovinen went down with injury I knew straight away that Pelicans will need to get another goalie in cause Kuusela just don't cut it as a no.1 in this league. This also happened last year didn't it when Marc Lamothe came in if I remember right, although that could've been down to Hovinen's poor netminding last year.

It's nice to see Ari will be playing in the league again.

Brian Salcido, USA (D) Sparta Praha -> SaiPa
Richard Lintner, SVK (D) Dukla Trencin -> SaiPa

Bad joke? No, this is real. Feels pretty alien, but it's real.

SaiPa needs a B Plan, like Pelicans. They are the weakest teams in the league nowadays. TPS won't be in 14th position in 1-2 weeks anymore

In fact, they got out of the last slot today when they beat HPK at home 3-2 in SO. Pelicans is now 14th in the league.

And it's not the players, it's the team. I'm fairly certain that many people didn't even think they could afford names like that, and even if they did, it's not usual for relatively high-profile players such as Lintner even be interested. It would be less of a shock if they'd gone to say, Kärpät or Jokerit.

Not that I'm complaining. I'm pretty damn happy seeing guys like that in our little ol' league, no matter the club.

Is there a specific reason as to why he got the boot ?

Timo Lindström (G) Ferencvárosi TC (HUN) --> HIFK

I've read some interesting comments on the Jatkoaikaa HIFK forum, so here is some background:

Ferencváros had two excellent goalies at the beginning of the season, Budai and Lindström. As the number of the foreign players is limited to 5 on a gamesheet and Ferencváros usually needed 5 foreign skaters Lindström did not get too many matches. When Sevela, the goalie of Dab.Docler got injured in october, Lindström went there on loan until the end of the Mol Liga and he played excellent. Since Ferencváros owes him a lot of money he did not want to go back to them and was looking for an other club instead. During the time Lindström was playing for Dab.Docler, Budai also left Ferencváros because he was also not paid so now the club has a 16 and a 17 year old goalie.
