Russia VHL and Pervaya Liga 2010–11

Since the old thread was about 2009–10 season, I took the liberty to create a new thread. Please sticky, thank you.

VHL regular season 2010–11 ||| VHL playoffs 2010–11 ||| (source)
Regular season alternative link from FHR||| Playoffs alternative link from FHR ||| (source)

Calendar and members of 2010–11 Pervaya Liga Povolzhye region

Members of 2010–11 Pervaya Liga Sibir and Far East region

Calendar and members of 2010–11 Pervaya Liga Region Center (source)

All these links are to official websites (FHR, KHL, regional organizations under FHR)

No info on Ural region for now. Also I couldn't find info on Sibir Far East calendar, maybe someone can supply a link? Also notice how Sibir Far East refers to the competition as Pervaya Liga, while FHR and Povolzhye refer to it as Championship of Russia between club teams of regions.

    Edit:
Thanks to gooodvin, we have info about Ural region of Pervaya Liga/Regions Championship:
6 teams: Kedr Novouralsk, Oktan Perm, Sputnik-2 Nizhny Tagil, Mechel-2 Chelyabinsk, Avangard-Yugra Kogalym, Zauralie-2 Kurgan

3 changes in comparison with 2009–10 season:
    1) New team: Zauralie-2, the farm of Zauralie of the VHL
    2) Signal Chelyabinsk out of the league
    3) Gazovik-2, the farm of Gazovik (now Rubin) of the VHL, left Pervaya Liga and joined MHL

There will be 8 rounds: every team will play 40 matches
Also there's info that a "Final tournament" is to take place, it will feature best teams of the 4 zones of Pervaya Liga (probably 2 teams from each zone) and will be organized by the FHR.

Once again thanks to gooodvin for this info.

Edit1.5: Info about Ural composition is available on the Zauralie website (http://www.hczaural.narod.ru/), news item from 3rd September 2010. Calendar isn't available just yet, but it is known that this division starts approximately around 25/26 September (because Zauralie-2 will play their first games of the season on these dates).

Thanks to gooodvin for this info.

    Edit2:
Official website of VHL now online:
    http://www.vhlru.ru/
    Alternative link 1:

    Alt link 2:

    Edit3:
Calendar of Sibir Far East (from Shakhter Prokopievsk's website): link (source) (thanks to gooodvin for info)

    Edit4:
    New info from gooodvin:
Yantar Seversk (Sibir Far East) might leave the league before the start of the season (http://yantarseversk.tomsk.ru/), reminder: season starts on October 1st, now it's September 11

Rusich of the Center division probably leaves the league although the season starts today (Sept. 11)

    Edit5:
Ural season started on September 23. Full calendar here: http://www.uralhockey.ru/index.php?o...pper&Itemid=36

    Edit6 (2011-01-24):
FHR website now has a section about the Regions Championship, containing info about the 2010/11 season of Region Center:

Yes, there will. It's VHLRU.RU, it's been registered by KHL but it's not active yet.

Obviously yes, I'm just pointing out how it's not unified for now – different organizations refer to to the league with different names (old name vs new name).

    The website is now active!

    http://www.vhlru.ru/

Although no English section (like the MHL website and unlike the KHL website)

    According to
    www.vhlru.ru/official/366/

5 import players are allowed, but no foreign goal tenders. Could somebody translate the other player rules?

    Thanx

22 players max are allowed for any match, they have to be 17 or older, including 2 goalkeepers and maximum of 5 foreigners (no foreign goalkeepers allowed). Of these 22 players 2 players (non-goalkeepers), citizen of Russia, born after 1 January 1990 are allowed. Teams are allowed to make swaps and further player applications until 31 Janury 2010 including this date (probably a mistake and should be 2011 instead).

    Shouls'nt it be:

...born before 1 January 1990 are allowed.

So 20 players between 17 and 20, two older ones?

I'm scratching my head myself. But obviously the sentence "В число заявленных на матч могут входить два полевых игрока, граждане Российской Федерации родившиеся не ранее 1 января 1990 года рождения." Translates as "Among the announced players for a match 2 field players can be, citizens of Russia, born not earlier than 1 January 1990"

It might not make much sense but essentially only players older than 17 are allowed in the league and only 2 players between 17 and 20 years of age are allowed per team. At least that what's the official website is saying.

Probably has something to do with MHL - the VHL doesn't want youth players to play in the VHL and instead be in MHL, while VHL is for players that are no longer in youth category but couldn't get to a KHL team.

Lada Togliatti lost his historic sponsorship with AvtoVAZ. The firm is in serious financial difficulties and will not provide sponsorship

They probably won't lose their name, just simply losing their main sponsor.

First ever VHL goal scored by Aleksandr Trofimov of Molor-Prikamye @ 9:54 during a 1 man advantage.

Edit: And so the 1st ever VHL game ends in favor of Toros, who win 2:1 after a shootout.

So, the final tournament of Pervaya Liga, which took place in Berdsk and featured teams from all 4 zones (plus 1 team from St. Petersburg) just finished.

The match for gold medal featured two teams from the Siberia - Far East zone. Primorye Ussuriysk played Shakhter Prokopyevsk. Shakhter won 6 goals to 3. Kristall Berdsk ended third in the tournament, also a team from the Siberia - Far East zone.

Also I forgot to mention who won the Ural and Siberia-Far East zones before the final tournament took place:

Ural was won by Kedr Novouralsk
Siberia Far East by Primorye Ussuriysk

Also from what I understand - the Central and Povolzhye zones featured playoffs after the regular season "group stage" round robin. Siberia - Far East and Ural did not however and winners were determined by points gained in the regular season - like in football (soccer).

Also the final tournament in Berdsk featured 2 groups - each with 5 teams. Every team in each group played every other team in its group once. Winners of the 2 groups played for gold, 2nd placed teams played for bronze, etc.
